Wednesday's destination is the Canadian Rockies and heading West to the Coast.
As you set out on your motorcycle, the engine's rumble echoed against the towering peaks of the Rockies, promising an adventure as vast as the mountains themselves. This was the beginning of your ride, a 3,574 km (2,221 miles) journey that would take you from Alberta’s Rocky Mountains all the way to the salty air of British Columbia’s Pacific coast. Every mile held the promise of discovery, with the Rockies stretching out like guardians to the north and south.
The first stretch through Alberta’s Banff and Jasper National Parks felt surreal—turquoise lakes glistened beneath sheer cliffs, and glaciers sparkled in the early morning light. Riding the Icefields Parkway was unforgettable: endless views of peaks and valleys, snow-capped and majestic, formed the perfect backdrop as you wind through pine-scented air. With each curve, the Rocky Mountains revealed a new side to their rugged beauty, a mix of power and serenity. Stopping at Bow Lake, take a moment to breathe it all in - the clear, crisp air, the towering glaciers in the distance, and the absolute silence broken only by the sound of the wind.
Leaving the Rockies behind and crossing into British Columbia felt like entering a new world. The scenery shifted, becoming greener and wilder, with towering forests that seemed endless. Riding through Revelstoke, the road twisted and turned, hugging the mountainsides as you pass waterfalls and deep, green valleys. There was something about the open road here, with no city lights or noise - just the steady rhythm of the bike, the whisper of the trees, and the call of adventure stretching out into the horizon.
Finally, as you near the coast, the scent of salt begins to mix with the mountain air. With its dramatic cliffs and sweeping views over the Pacific, the Sea-to-Sky Highway was like something out of a dream. Stop at a lookout near Squamish, where the ocean stretches out below, and the coastal mountains rise sharply from the shore. The beauty was staggering, and for a moment, I sat in awe, feeling a profound connection to this rugged land.
By the time you reach the coast, the journey has become more than just a ride. It was a passage through some of Canada’s most breathtaking landscapes—a transformative journey that leaves you feeling like you've been part of something far greater than yourself. As you park your bike and walk to the water’s edge, watching the sun dip low over the Pacific, you know this is a trip you'll carry with you forever.
Riding the regions of the Canadian Rockies to the Coast isn’t just about the ride; it is about feeling the land in a way only a motorcycle could offer, becoming part of the mountains, forests, and coastlines that define this stunning part of the world. It is an unforgettable adventure, indeed.
The road to travel.
Just one of the scenic spots,
The river flows.
